Currently FD background transitions are disabled and need to be turned on by deleting line 216 (0421AAE4 60000000 #Disable FD Background Transitions [Achilles, Dan Salvato]) in the gecko codes page at show defaults.
There should be a toggle similar to the one for lagless Fod which makes playing vanilla Melee more accessible for players.
