TL;DR - You get a “free” loss every ‘X’ amount of games.
There aren’t many ways to filter your ranked opponents right now. Sometimes you run into that laggy player from another continent and you lose to someone much lower ranked than you. I’d propose that your first loss in a long win streak should not cause you to lose more LP than your win streak gave. No change is the extreme end. Even cushioning your first negative rating update by a percentage would help.
Ex: I play 25 games in Gold and win 24 and lose 1. The wins and losses were only against Bronze players (due to ping restrictions in my region) so I gained little rating on win but lost a ton on the single loss. Should a 95% win rate be looked on as a negative session?
This affects high ranked streamers the most due to the popularity of stream sniping with smurf accounts. Regular players also can benefit in the form of lowered Ladder Anxiety.
