One thing that’s great about tournaments is being able to play with people from a wide range of skill levels. I love that slippi tends to give me very well matched games, but sometimes it’s fun to style on someone for a couple matches or to get styled on by someone completely out of your league. Playing a much lower skill opponent can be very rewarding, and playing a much higher skill opponent can be a awe-inspiring. Both, in small doses, can serve as excellent motivations to continue playing and improving.
Having unranked dish out a match like that like 5-10% of the time would provide that wide skill range experience without overtly interupting the flow of quality games.
