I’ve seen suggestions of sorting for matchmaking for wired vs wifi.
I would recommend 2D matchmaking, one dimension for skill, and the other dimension for internet quality. Thus people have a tendency to match with people whom have internet quality like theirs, and talent like theirs.
It would have to take into account only recent games rollback quantity though. Because sometimes i just feel like wireless…idk, the couch in my living room do be quite comfy.
ie, its like a graph, x is talent, and y is internet quality. The engine searches for people of closest distance to you on the graph (and dimensions are scalled).
The ancient board game GO, has similar matchmaking, with one dimension being time taken per move, and the other being talent (whereas chess has 1D talent ELO and timed modes).
