would it ever be possible to add a feature like where you could practice specific matchups like for example if you were a fox player and wanted to practice the puff matchup you could set it to where you’ll only be matched up with puff players online.

the risk of this is that unpopular characters get filtered out and never get games

yea maybe they should only let you filter 3-4 characters instead of the whole cast because otherwise low tiers will never find games

I think the solution would be to not exclude matchups, but just to have a “preference” for certain matchups, and if a certain amount of time has passed or something, they could default to the whole cast maybe? This still gives them the ability to quit out, but that’ll always be the case.

I think this would be kinda cool if implemented to a satisfatory degree based on feedback of experimental builds released for it.

how would this work for counterpicks or the other player changing their character after game 1?

seems like kind of a weird concept to be able to choose your opponent
I get that wanting to practice versus a specific character is nice but it feels like the trade off (less accurately representing tournament play, isolating less popular character players, fracturing player base) is too large

I think a friends list would go a long way to aleiviating this issue by letting you queue against players you enjoyed practicing with before, who play a certain character
